Entrepreneurship is an emotional rollercoaster, and the twists and turns that we experience can influence decisions, impact outcomes or even shape our self-development and business evolution.
On a recent episode of Anomalous Educator, I spoke with Willo Sana, the transformational business coach of Willo Loves You.
Her expertise has her working closely with an array of clients, providing emotional and strategic support at every step of their journey.
We discussed some of the emotional aspects of business and the lessons learned throughout her career.
Find Your Emotional Support
There’s some speculation that even the most successful professionals can find themselves feeling lost or scared at times.
So, considering we can all experience moments of fear and doubt, what tactics can we take to get out of that space?
“Whether you are a man or a woman, we require that emotional support,” says Willo.
When we feel safe, nurtured and supported in any aspect of our lives we are more likely to succeed and achieve our goals, and that’s why establishing some kind of emotional support is critical.
Support can come in different forms – through those immediately around you, such as friends or family, or people that can guide you professionally such as a business coaches like Willo.
Effortless Marketing Stems From Enthusiasm
Have you ever been so excited about something that you just had to tell everyone about it? Well, in business that’s a form of marketing.
Storytelling is a crucial part of marketing, and when you have an idea or concept that really gets you motivated you’ll start to translate that in creative ways that will make an enormous impact.
“I love absorbing ideas and love teaching about it,” says Willo. When she gets her teeth into something that kick starts her enthusiasm, she finds herself entering into this “natural genius of marketing.”
Whether it’s a newsletter, teaching seminar, social media post or even her own well-crafted website, she has always found herself marketing exciting ideas.
If you have something that gets you inspired, shout about it!
Letting Go Can Help You Evolve
When an aspect of your life is no longer serving you, it might be wise to lay it to rest.
But, when that element you want to eliminate is your business, the emotional impact that follows can morph into feelings of grief.
As a successful entrepreneur, Willo has endured the emotional turmoil that comes with closing a beloved business.
“I definitely am not shy to share that it was painful – it was really hard,” says Willo, explaining you essentially lose part of your perceived identity.
However painful it may have been, it was at this juncture she realised that we must recognise when to shed old identities that no longer serve us, and step into a more truthful direction of who we are today.
There is a mourning period of course, but being in that process will allow you to “move on from a healthy place of choice and agency.”
We are forever developing, and if making a drastic change means you can stay true to yourself, then it is all part of your personal evolutionary process.
With so many emotions influencing our decisions, it’s important to stay grounded.
Having guidance and support can take you into better avenues of success, while keeping you true to yourself.
